Who We Are
The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) is a special fund at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The Fund is dedicated to promoting socio-economic development and reducing poverty in the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. With a clear mission to lead innovative poverty reduction programs, ISFD focuses on developing partnerships that address the most pressing development challenges in IsDB member countries.

ISFD is committed to addressing socio-economic challenges and improving the lives of people in our member countries. We target interventions with proven impact to eradicate poverty. We empower women and youth to drive economic growth, invest in human development to unlock individual potential, and support building resilient communities through access to education, healthcare, and clean energy.

Republic of Tunisia

Country Overview

Tunisia joined the IsDB on August 12, 1974, as one of its founding members. IsDB approved its first operation in the country on June 05, 1977. Tunisia is a middle-income country with a GDP per capita of US$ 3,496 in 2017 with strong trade links with Europe. It has a population of 11.5 million people (2017), of which more than two thirds live in the urban areas).

Current Projects

Investing in the future workforce, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) has made a significant contribution to Tunisia's educational landscape through the Vocational Education and Training for Employment Project. This initiative has empowered Tunisian youth by equipping them with valuable skills and practical training, enhancing their employability and career prospects.
