In recent years, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) has played a pivotal role in supporting Senegal's growth, making significant contributions to the sectors of Agriculture, Energy, Education, Health, and Microfinance.
Current Projects
The ISFD has made significant contributions to Senegal's development across various sectors. In microfinance, the Fund has supported projects aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering youth employment. In the energy sector, the ISFD has contributed to rural electrification initiatives, expanding access to electricity in underserved areas. In agriculture, the Fund has supported crucial programs such as the Regional Soil Fertility Mapping Program, the Regional Rice Value Chain Development Program, and sustainable pastoralism development initiatives. Furthermore, the ISFD has played a vital role in enhancing health in Senegal by supporting projects related to yellow fever vaccine production, malaria prevention and control, and COVID-19 pandemic response.
In the education sector, the ISFD has supported initiatives such as the Vocational Literacy Program, the Dara Schools Development Project, and the establishment of digital libraries with African content. These projects aim to improve access to quality education and enhance human capital development in Senegal. Through these diverse initiatives, the ISFD has demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development and poverty reduction in Senegal.
