Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
Country Overview
Jordan is an upper-middle-income country with a population of 7.3 million (as of 2017) and a per capita GDP of US$5,678. The country faces challenges due to limited resources including scarce arable land and water. However, Jordan excels in education and social well-being compared to its income bracket. This is reflected in its high ranking on the Human Development Index (HDI) - 86th out of 188 countries according to the UNDP's 2016 Human Development Report.
