Country Overview

The Republic of Indonesia is the world's largest archipelagic state, encompassing 17,508 islands, of which approximately 6,000 are inhabited. 

Indonesia has a population of approximately 262 million (2017 data), ranking as the world's fourth most populous country and the largest Muslim-majority nation. Furthermore, Indonesia's economy holds significant weight on the global stage. In 2017, it stood as the world's 16th largest economy in terms of nominal GDP (US$1,015 billion), the 8th largest in terms of purchasing power parity, and the leading economy within both the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Southeast Asia. Indonesia is a member of the G-20.

Current Projects

The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) has made significant contributions to Indonesia's development efforts through various projects. These include the Integrated Community Driven Development projects (Phases II and III), which focus on empowering communities to address their local needs. Additionally, the ISFD has supported the Development of Integrated Farming Systems in Upland Areas Project, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and improving livelihoods in these challenging regions.
