Who We Are
The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) is a special fund at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group. The Fund is dedicated to promoting socio-economic development and reducing poverty in the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. With a clear mission to lead innovative poverty reduction programs, ISFD focuses on developing partnerships that address the most pressing development challenges in IsDB member countries.
What We Do
ISFD is committed to addressing socio-economic challenges and improving the lives of people in our member countries. We target interventions with proven impact to eradicate poverty. We empower women and youth to drive economic growth, invest in human development to unlock individual potential, and support building resilient communities through access to education, healthcare, and clean energy.

Bangladesh became a member of the Islamic Development Bank in 1974.

Current Projects

The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) has played a significant role in bolstering Bangladesh's infrastructure and social well-being. ISFD contributions include the Bhola Dual Fuel Combined Cycle Power Project, which has undoubtedly strengthened the country's energy sector. Additionally, the LLF-Inclusive and integrated sanitation and hygiene project has demonstrably improved public health by promoting sanitation and hygiene practices. Also, ISFD dedication extends to other key projects contributing to Bangladesh's overall healthcare landscape. Furthermore, the Rural Access Road Improvement in Sylhet has enhanced connectivity within the region, boosting the local economy.
