Country Overview

Morocco has a population of about 34.9 (2017) million and lies in a strategic location on the western edge of the Sahara Desert linking West Africa, the Arab Maghreb Region and Europe. It gained independence in 1956 and is a constitutional monarchy. Morocco has a bicameral parliament: Chamber of Representatives (Majlis an-Nuwwâb) and the Assembly of Councilors (Majlis alMustasharin). Morocco's capital subscription to IsDB is ID 257 million (0.51%).

Current Projects

The ISFD actively supports development across various crucial aspects of Moroccan life. In the agricultural sector, the Lives and Livelihoods Fund empowers rural communities through integrated projects, fostering long-term sustainability. Microfinance receives a boost through the Serve Program, strengthening vulnerable businesses and aiding job creation. Education is bolstered by the VOLIP program, promoting vocational skills and literacy to combat poverty. Finally, the Inclusive Social Development Project directly addressed healthcare in Morocco's Eastern Region.
