ISFD and Zakat House Kuwait Join Forces to Empower Communities in OIC Countries
Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – April 29, 2024: The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and Zakat House Kuwait signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank Annual Meetings.
Dr. Hiba Ahmed, Director General of ISFD, and Dr. Majed Al-Azmi, CEO of Zakat House Kuwait, signed the MoU, with aims to enhance collaboration between the two institutions, aiming to strengthen their efforts in supporting socioeconomic development while combating poverty within Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries.
The MoU will focus on areas like mobilizing resources for the Al-Quds Empowerment Fund, developing Zakat and Islamic finance instruments for human development in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for youth and women, and undertaking joint community development projects.
"This MoU with Zakat House Kuwait is a powerful step forward in our shared mission to empower communities across the OIC," said Dr. Hiba Ahmed. "By combining our resources in Zakat development, Islamic finance, and community initiatives, we can significantly improve the lives of those most in need, particularly youth and women, in critical areas like education and healthcare."
