Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – April 29, 2024: The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and Zakat House Kuwait signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank Annual Meetings.

Dr. Hiba Ahmed, Director General of ISFD, and Dr. Majed Al-Azmi, CEO of Zakat House Kuwait, signed the MoU, with aims to enhance collaboration between the two institutions, aiming to strengthen their efforts in supporting socioeconomic development while combating poverty within Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries.

The MoU will focus on areas like mobilizing resources for the Al-Quds Empowerment Fund, developing Zakat and Islamic finance instruments for human development in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for youth and women, and undertaking joint community development projects.

"This MoU with Zakat House Kuwait is a powerful step forward in our shared mission to empower communities across the OIC," said Dr. Hiba Ahmed. "By combining our resources in Zakat development, Islamic finance, and community initiatives, we can significantly improve the lives of those most in need, particularly youth and women, in critical areas like education and healthcare."

"We are honored to collaborate with ISFD on this important initiative," said Dr. Majed Al-Azmi. "This MoU establishes a strong framework for joint efforts, and we are confident that by working together, we can make a substantial difference in promoting economic and social development while alleviating poverty in OIC member countries, including through mobilizing critical resources for the Al-Quds Empowerment Fund."
