Director General of Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development Discusses Collaboration for Poverty Reduction and Development with Executive Director of Islamic Solidarity Fund

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 21 January 2024 – The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and the OIC Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF) have discussed ways of joint efforts and collaboration in tackling poverty and enhancing development across member countries.

This common ground of collaboration was affirmed during a meeting between ISFD Director General, Dr. Hiba Ahmed, and ISF Executive Director, Mr. Muhammad Suleiman Aba Al-Khail, held at the ISF headquarters in Jeddah.

Dr. Hiba Ahmed stressed the ISFD's desire to strengthen ties with similar organizations, particularly in areas like endowment (Waqf) management, women and youth economic empowerment, and capacity building. Mr. Aba Al-Khail commended the ISFD's significant contributions to the development and poverty reduction in the OIC member countries, highlighting the potential for knowledge sharing and coordinated initiatives to maximize impact.

Dr. Hiba Ahmed also acknowledged the potential for enhanced cooperation, emphasizing the combined expertise of both institutions as a key asset in achieving their shared goals.

The meeting concluded with a renewed willingness to collaborate between the ISFD and the ISF, aimed at maximizing their impact in alleviating poverty and fostering sustainable development across the OIC member countries.
