Education Above All
Education Above All (EAA) stands as a crucial partner to the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) in our shared mission to provide inclusive and equitable quality education for all. This commitment is particularly evident in the co-development of the Out-of-School Children (OOSC) Financing Facility, a multi-year initiative tackling the challenge of over 58 million children – two thirds residing in IsDB Member Countries – lacking access to basic education.
EAA's collaboration extends beyond mere funding, offering a wealth of expertise and experience in supporting education for marginalized populations. Their contribution of US$75 million in grant funding, combined with ISFD's US$100 million concessional loan, has empowered the OOSC initiative to reach children in Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, and other member countries facing significant school dropout rates.
Through this partnership, EAA and ISFD are working together to ensure that every child, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to learn and thrive.
UNHCR
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) have launched the Global Islamic Solidarity Fund for Refugees (GIFR) as a groundbreaking initiative to support millions of forcibly displaced people. The (GIFR) will serve as a vital tool to address this challenge, offering a Sharia-compliant funding mechanism.
This partnership comes at a critical time, as forced displacement reaches unprecedented levels, creating a global humanitarian and development crisis.
Recognizing the urgency, both UNHCR and ISFD have committed an initial US$50 million each as seed funding for the GIFR. With this significant initial support, GIFR is poised to make a real difference in the lives of refugees and displaced people in and beyond the member countries of the Islamic Development Bank.

The collaboration focuses on empowering civil society organizations (CSOs) through initiatives like the IsDB-ISFD-NGO Empowerment for Poverty Reduction, Tadamon.
Tadamon, a multi-million-dollar initiative, serves as a key catalyst for empowering Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in their fight against poverty and pursuit of sustainable community development. By providing crucial funding, training, and networking opportunities, Tadamon equips CSOs with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
This initiative goes beyond simply providing support; it actively fosters innovation and transformation. Tadamon prioritizes projects in key areas impacting refugees, including education, job creation, resilience building, and community livelihood development.
Furthermore, Tadamon champions the establishment of sustainable financing mechanisms for CSOs. Through crowdfunding and strategic partnerships, Tadamon empowers CSOs to secure long-term financial stability, ensuring their continued impact on communities in need.
