Since its inception as the poverty alleviation arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group in 1428H (2007G), the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) has strived to make difference in the lives of the poor in member-countries.

President, IDB Group, Chairman of The ISFD Board of Directors
Through its flagship programmes and other mechanisms, the ISFD has supported member countries by providing resources for rural infrastructure development, human development (especially education, health, water and sanitation) agricultural and rural development, as well as for gender empowerment and inclusive growth. As at the end of 1433H(2012G), ISFD support to the various sectors from its own net income stood at US$ 209 million covering 37 projects in 24 member countries, while the total cost of these projects reached US$ 1.2billion
Lessons learnt from the various interventions as well as the gaps identified inform ISFD’s Strategic Plan for 1434 – 1436H (2013 – 2015G) which focuses on replicating and up-scaling proven poverty solutions at communities’ level with a view to enhancing the Fund’s impact in the area of poverty reduction.
This website documents the life-changing interventions the ISFD has undertaken and the impact they are having on lives particularly in our least developed member-countries. It is therefore my pleasure to congratulate the ISFD on this great initiative and to welcome all the visitors to the site and thank them for their interest in the work that the ISFD is doing. Let us all join our hands and minds through interaction in this site and through other means to reduce substantially the levels of poverty in our globe.
